Named our Record Of The Week all the way back in April, ‘Sippin Yak’ has triumphed over 46 other Jam Hot Records as voted by you.
Our first-ever Jam Hot Record Of The Year has been crowned.
Urged on by Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo, it was a beat that only took Cloonee two hours to make while on a flight to a show.
Dropping it later that day in his set and uploading the clip online - the rest is history.
Cloonee's 'Sippin' Yak' is the first ever Jam Hot Record Of The Year
‘Sippin Yak’ arrived at a fever pitch from Cloonee fans with the tune receiving over 30 million views on social media before it had even been release.
Sampling 2000 song ‘We Like’ from acclaimed hip-hop artist Tracey Lee featuring Fatman Scoop the hip-hop-infused track was always destined for success.
Such was the popularity of the tune that even Cloonee was shocked at how quickly the sample was cleared.
There was no surprise when this one quickly rose to the top of DJ charts with the likes of Dom Dolla and Fisher also turning to it in their sets.
‘Sippin Yak’ defined 2024 for many with the love from Cloonee fans never faltering.
A certified hit in all senses of the word - ‘Sippin Yak’ is a deserved winner of our inaugural Jam Hot Record Of The Year.
