Penn State Berks campus is located in southeastern Pennsylvania, on the outskirts of the city of Reading,.The college is about one hour from drive from Philadelphia., the Amish farms and Hershey Park. The Berks campus, part of the Penn State University College, was founded in 1958 and includes 15 buildings on 241 acres of land. It enrolls 2,160 full and part-time students and provides housing for approximately 700 students.

Reading/Berks area is a diverse blend of more than 330,000 people--from Amish farms to ethnic festivals. Reading, known as the Outlet Capital of the World, hosting hundreds of manufacturers' outlets stores nearby.

The wooded campus is bordered by a beautiful trout stream and Grings Mill recreation area. You can walk along the creek, jog, bike, and play tennis or just enjoy the scenery. All this makes the college a pleasant and comfortable place to be.

Dancing Facilities

Main dancing will be at the Beaver Community Center (gym) where a large wood floor can accomodate comfortably 300- 600 dancers. The Center is close to the dining hall and short distance to the housing area. Please note that on the main dance floor ONLY appropriate soft sole shoes are allowed!!

Dining & Snacking

Meals are all-you-can-eat, served cafeteria style in the spacious Dining Hall. Friday evening there will be festive sit-down dinner. Meal time will be flexible to accommodate both dancers and non-dancers. Kosher and vegetarian meals are available. On Sunday there will be an outdoor BBQ lunch (weather permitting) in the Pavillion which is surrounded by wooded area . On some of the days, a continental breakfast will be served in the lobby of the Residence Hall. In addition, snack bar and vending machines are available for your convenience throughout the campus. During the dance sessions drinks & snacks will be provided.



Recreational Activities


Photo Siluet w trees On Campus relaxation and recreation are yours. You may take a walk around the campus or along the winding Creek bordering the campus. You can visit Grings Mill recreation area across the field where you can walk along the creek, jog, and bike or have a short picnic. It is simply beautiful!! In addition, boating and fishing are available at Blue Marsh Lake, just 4 miles from campus.

Sport and recreational field are available throughout the campus.

Shopping. Major shopping malls, factory outlets and entertainment options are close by. Reading is known for its factory outlets, and manufacturers such as Eddie Bauer, Lee Jeans, Bugle Boy, The Gap, Nautica, and Vanity Fair - have outlet stores near the campus.

Besides the proximity to most of the shopping outlets, the college is within comfortable driving distance to Harrisburg, the capital of Pennsylvania (45 min) or Philadelphia (one hour) with their cultural offerings, the Amish communities of Lancaster County (one hour), as well as Hershey Park (one hour).
